Dating Sites and Apps for People with Disabilities

Disabled Dating By

What are the best dating sites for disabled people? That’s a good question!

At DisabledSexGuide.com, we’ve done our research and created a collection of the most popular disabled dating websites and social networks.

Dating can be challenging for a disabled person, especially if you already feel isolated. So we’re here to help by sharing an overview of each site’s best features and any notable drawbacks.

To be clear, we did not include every disabled dating site on the Internet. Part of this is intentional: we purposely excluded sites we already found had poor reputations with customer service or overwhelmingly negative reviews elsewhere.

We’re also open to suggestions if you think we missed a great dating site or dating app for people with disabilities.

As for which of the disability dating websites is best, we’re also asking our readers for help.

No person has the same wants and needs. We invite our readers to share their experiences with the disability community by emailing us at editor [at] sexforeverybody [dot] com.

Special Bridge

Special Bridge is a family-run dating site and social network designed for people with disabilities. Launched in 2014, it also offers a dating app for people with mental and physical disabilities.

The community is members-only, meaning your profile is private and only viewable to registered members.

Special Bridge prides itself on being different than mainstream dating sites that often fail to meet the needs of disabled singles.

It stands out for its design and accessibility features meant to help foster relationships. The disabled dating site is also in the process of creating a smartphone app.

Another great feature is signing up is free. However, paid memberships that offer more access and communication features cost $10 a month.

The registration process also guides the user through the 13 questions needed to set up an account.

Once a member joins, they can browse members as well as social groups by disability.

Currently, the platform provides an “easy-to-use” interface as well as user groups with members of similar ability levels and needs.

You can also specify whether you are looking for friends or to date, or both!

Even if you are not ready to start using online dating sites, the Special Bridge blog is a great resource. It provides several articles offering advice on forming relationships.

Among the many publishing posts, topics include accessible dating ideas for people in wheelchairs, making friends when you have autism, and safety tips for online dating.

Whispers4u

Looking for love in the disability community?

Whispers4u.com is a disabled dating site that says it’s helped thousands of singles find romance since 2002.

It boasts that hundreds of new singles join daily with various conditions, such as Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, learning difficulties, and Spina Bifida.

Whispers4u was a finalist for “Best Niche Dating Site” at the 2016 iDate Awards, a prestigious event that recognizes the best in the dating industry.

The matchmaking site is part of Dating Factory, one of the world’s largest online dating networks with a user base in the millions.

No disability? No need to worry! Whispers4u says it does not discriminate. Able-bodied members with open minds are welcome to sign up for the dating platform.

The site has two types of memberships: free trial and gold.

Free trial members are able to create and manage their profiles on the site, view other members, send/respond to chat requests and winks, add/block other members, and receive their latest matches.

Queer daters will be happy to know it also has a dedicated Gay and Lesbian Disable Dating section. But they will sadly need to upgrade to the paid “Gold” member-level subscription.

Gold members enjoy more features such as unrestricted chats, view other members’ galleries, and can send/reply to an unlimited number of emails and winks.

They are also eligible to subscribe to the site’s VIP services to experience a prioritized service.

No matter your device, Whispers4u says it is accessible on both smartphones and desktop computers.

Dating4Disabled

At Dating4Disabled.com, you can make friends, find romance, and share resources with disabled people worldwide.

Launched in 2005, the online matchmaking community offers free registration. Perks include sending messages to members, posting on blogs, and reading one free private message a month.

Serious daters may want to consider upgrading to a paid membership, one of which is $10 a month. The site provides bi-weekly, monthly, and yearly options.

Paid users can read an unlimited number of member messages, and recipients of their messages can be read them for free. They also have expanded blog and forum capabilities.

Dating4Disabled offers both desktop and mobile sites, along with apps available on both iOS and Android devices.

In terms of safety, the disabled dating site says it uses advanced screening technology to block suspicious accounts and prevent fraud. Yet also warns members to be cautious when deciding to meet new people in public.

Dating4Disabled is open to people of various sexual orientations and preferences such as those who are asexual, bisexual, or straight.

This also includes people who identify as Devotees, who are able-bodied people attracted to disability. This group has been criticized for fetishizing the struggle of being disabled.

Disable Passions

Do you find it hard to meet new people because of your disability? Passions Network has heard you!

Disabled Passions is one of Passions Network’s 260+ niche dating sites that has been online since 2004.

This free online dating and social networking community was created for singles with disabilities. Whether you are looking for a romantic date or simply make new friends, the site has you covered.

You can browse several Disability groups by condition, including cancer, arthritis, spinal cord injury, diabetes, and depression.

The community offers a number of free features such as sending/receiving messages, posting photos, sending “smooches,” chatting, as well as tagging other users.

The disabled dating site lets you easily find other members online, top groups, announcements, as well as the birthdays of Disabled Passions members.

Once you join Disabled Passions, you can also become a member of other sites on the Passions Network. This allows you to customize your own personal social network of dating sites to fit your interests.

However, there are some sites and optional features within the network that may require a paid upgrade to “Network Wide Access.”

Disabled Passions allows users to join with an email or use social login and signup through their Facebook accounts.

Overall, the design of the site appears a little outdated and hosts many ads. That being said, since the site provides so many free features to a niche group, it is reasonable that it needs to find ways to stay afloat.
